Giving in Action

Clark funded the creation of the 4th floor of the Greater Portland Immigrant Welcome Center in 2018. Now, two years later, a flagship program of the center is underway: the iEnglish Project. The iEnglish Project is a digital English training lab that allows industry-specific learning to occur at the personalized pace of the leader. As it is a digital platform, this can happen remotely as well.

This initiative represents Clark’s engagement with the workforce development issues our community and workforce faces. With the iEnglish lab, employers have a measurable tool with which to empower current employees that may be in roles unsuitable for their true talents. Removing English as a barrier allows both the individual and employer to achieve greater potential.

If you are interested in learning more about the iEnglish program, please contact James Brissenden, board member of GPIWC and Director of Business Development at Clark Insurance.
