Clark Insurance Receives "Employer of the Year" Award

Clark Insurance has received the first ever "Employer of the Year" award from IPGP (Insurance Professionals of Greater Portland).  IPGP cited Clark's support of the organization, and involvement in the creation of USM's Risk Management and Insurance Program. 

Clark is a Maine based, employee-owned insurance agency with offices in Portland, Windham, Saco and Manchester, NH.

Carol Colton, CPIW, CISR Receives "Insurance Professional of the Year" Award

Carol Colton has been awarded "Insurance Professional of the Year" by IPGP (Insurance Professionals of Greater Portland).  This award recognizes Carol's dedicated involvement in the organization, her community and the insurance profession.

Carol is a Personal Insurance Service Agent at Clark Insurance and holds the Certified Insurance Service Representative designation, as well as the Certified Professional Insurance Woman designation.

Employees Earn Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) Designation

Clark is pleased to announce 3 employees have earned Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation:

Rick Negus, CPCU, CIC

Rick is an Account Manager in the Business Insurance Department with 25 years experience.  He is also a Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU). 

Rick provides insurance solutions to many Maine businesses, including car dealerships, garages, truckers, loggers, and contractors.

Lorraine is a Business Insurance Service Agent with 19 years experience.

She works with a variety of organizations, including contractors, manufacturers, public entities, financial services firms, and non-profits.

Clark Insurance Welcomes New Employees

Josh Ellis

Josh Ellis, a native of Saco, Maine, has joined Clark Insurance as a Business Insurance Agent.  He is also a licensed claims adjuster in several states with five years experience as a workers compensation claims examiner. 

Josh is a graduate of Thornton Academy and Ithaca College, and currently lives in Westbrook.

Joe Bedard also recently joined Clark as a Business Insurance Agent.  He is a licensed agent in Maine, with prior experience working in real estate acquisitions.  Joe specializes in the housing industry, both affordable and market rate.

Joe is a Maine native, and graduate of Lynchburg College where he was a two time decathlon champion.

Carolyn recently joined the Personal Insurance team at Clark Insurance. She is a licensed agent, with previous experience in the real estate industry.

Vicki Wyman, CIC

Vicki has joined Clark Insurance as a Customer Service Agent in the Business Insurance Department. 

She brings a wealth of mid and large account experience to Clark.  Before joining Clark, Vicki worked on the broker side for many years in Maine and Connecticut.

Shelby has joined Clark Insurance as a Customer Service Agent in the Personal Insurance Department. 

Prior to Clark, Shelby worked for direct writers for nine years. She also recently moved back to Maine with her family.

Leiah has joined Clark Insurance as a Customer Service Associate in the Employee Benefits Department. 

She graduated from University of Southern Maine in 2009 with a degree in Business Administration.

Kenneth Ross, CIC Elected President and Treasurer of Clark Insurance

 Ken Ross was recently elected President and Treasurer of Clark Insurance by the Board of Directors.  He joined Clark in 1989 as Stockholder and Vice President.

At the same meeting Dale Hudson, President from 2003 to 2010, was elected Chairman.  Gail Lind will continue as Vice President of Operations and Secretary, and Jeff Shaw will continue as Vice President of Sales.

Sue Nason Receives 2009 Insurance Professional of the Year Award

Sue Nason was recently awarded the 2009 Elizabeth M. Welsh Insurance Professional of the Year.  The award is presented each year by the Maine Council of the National Association of Insurance Women (NAIW).

Sue is a Business Insurance Service Agent at Clark Insurance, with a specialty in professional liability.  Her dedication has led to several insurance designations: Accredited Customer Service Representative (ACSR), Associate in Personal Insurance (API) and Certified Professional Insurance Woman (CPIW).

Gregg Ritter Earns Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) Designation

Gregg Ritter, Business Insurance Agent and stockholder of Clark Insurance, has earned the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation.  CIC is a nationally recognized educational program within the insurance industry.

In addition to CIC, Gregg maintains designations as an Accredited Advisor in Insurance (AAI) and Associate in Claims (AIC). 

Clark Insurance supports and encourages continuing education for all employees.  Congratulations, Gregg!





Clark Insurance Welcomes New Employee

Angela Yannelli has taken a position as a Business Insurance Associate at Clark Insurance. She recently graduated from the University of Southern Maine with a B.S. in Finance. While at USM, she participated in the Risk Management and Insurance program.

United Way Day of Caring

Sixteen Clark employees participated in the United Way Day of Caring in April 2009. Four groups tackled four various group homes, where they did interior painting and yard work.

Marty Duggan Recognized with Prestigious Award

Marty Duggan, our Life Insurance and Retirement Planning Advisor, was recently honored with the Life Insurance Producer of the Year Award from Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company.

Marty also has consistently qualified for the Million Dollar Roundtable (MDRT), which is the Premier Association of Financial Professionals.

This international association is made up of the top 1% of the world's most successful life insurance and financial services professionals. Clark Insurance is proud to be represented in the MDRT.
